I decided to introduce another series to the blog, Travel Tips. During the last couple of months, I’ve noticed that I have a lot of “routines” for every aspect of a trip. From the planning to the packing, the flight and getting to our destination, throughout the years, I have acquired my own set of “tips & tricks” that I always follow.
First off, my go-to travel accessory: My Watch.

The Obvious: Tell time
As obvious as it seems, it still amazes me how many people don’t wear a watch. As someone who has had their phone stolen out of their purse in Europe (lesson learned!), I am very conscious of where and when I pull out my iPhone while in other countries. A quick look at the wrist does the trick.
Time at home
With that being said about using it to tell time, I don’t actually switch my watch to the time zone I am traveling to. I keep it in Central Time Zone. Why? As my iPhone updates, it’s a quick way to figure out what time it is back home. This really helps with keeping up with emails, tasks at hand and communicating with friends and family back home. There is nothing my mother loves more than a 3am text from me 🙂
Flight Time
As I have mentioned, I have a fear of flying. One of the ways I manage my fear is by tracking flight time. I have found that my iPhone will switch between time zones mid flight, so my watch is a comforting way to keep track of flight time.
It is what it is: An Accessory
When it comes down to it, I do not like packing a lot of accessories while traveling. My watch is one way to pull an outfit together and make my plain travel outfits a little more exciting.
