I caved.
After all the posts and talk about cheap flights to Paris, my husband and I decided to book a quick trip to Paris at the beginning of December. Also, story time.. I recently found my old old digital camera. When I started looking at the pictures still on the camera, it was all my photos from my last trip to Paris that I never downloaded. Naturally, I took it as a sign. And I included those photos in this post #amateur
Since it’s such a quick trip (three days), I thought it would be fun to make a short bucket list of things I would love to do while there. But hell, if we end up in a cafe, sipping wine and eating brie, there will be zero complaints on my end. Here’s what I have in mind so far:
Stroll through the Christmas Markets
This makes my heart happy. At the beginning of November, Paris is fills with Christmas markets. It will be a perfect time to snag a few gifts before Christmas while sipping on spiced wine.
Take a twirl on an Ice Skating Rink
This never crossed my mind, until perusing Pinterest. And there was this perfect ice skating rink, Hotel de Ville. It’s the most popular skating rink in Paris, in front of the city hall and become the symbol of Christmas in Paris. Sign me up.
Climb the Eiffel Tower
This should be on every Paris Bucket List. I know it’s cliche, but the Eiffel Tower is magical.
Enjoy the sunset views from the Montparnasse Tower
Known as the only skyscraper in Paris, this tower is known for their incredible views of Paris. Although it seems a little cheesy and touristy, the pictures I have seen are insane.
Sip on Afternoon Tea at the Ritz-Carlton Paris
I am a sucker for all things “High Tea.” I keep debating between the Ritz and the Four Seasons, but the reviews sound impeccable. I had tea at the Ritz in London a few backs, the service was unmatched. I am hoping for a similar experience at the Ritz Paris.
Hit up a Dynamo Class
If you follow me on any form of social media, you know that I am a Soul-Cycle addict. Dynamo is France’s version of Soul-Cycle… and your first class is free. So, I have to go.
Watch the city from Les Deux Magots
This cafe was one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite, and I may have a slight obsession with him. Cannot wait to sip a cappuccino and watch the world from where Hemingway found some of his greatest inspiration.
Half-day trip to Versailles
I know the gardens will be lackluster, but I really excited to visit Versailles during the “off-season.” When I visited in the summer, it was terribly crowded and hot. Excited to view the grounds with a little more room and a lot less sweat 🙂
Indulge in Brie, Baguettes, & Bordeaux
I really don’t think this needs an explanation….
Do you have any recommendations for winter in Paris? What about restaurants and cafes?
