I have come to love a good trip in early spring. We found ourselves, like a lot of travelers, cancelling our spring trips abroad because of COVID-19. Our original plan had us traveling to London and the northern part of France (Champagne, anyone?) over a period of seven days in late March. As soon as our flights were booked, I was already planning out my outfits and creating an edited packing list. Hopefully this will save you the headache of wondering what to pack for England in the Spring / Fall.
If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you will know that are few things I enjoy more in the trip planning process than a well curated packing list. Be sure to check out my Europe Summer Packing List as well as what I recommend packing in your carry-on.
Disclaimer: While my edit pertains to items that I already have in my closet, with a few tweaks (swap out leggings for jeans, use the coat in your closet, etc), this post is a good guide for inspiration.
A Few Tips:
- Shoes are key. While I may “plan” an outfit with a certain pair of shoes, it all comes down to the day’s activities. Some days are more sedentary than others, in this instance, bring on the high boots. When days involve a lot of walking and exploring, it’s key to invest in a comfy pair of flats or a cute pair of tennis shoes.
- The Basics. Always throw in a couple basic t-shirts. Use them for pajamas or layering pieces.
- I always try to fit everything into a carry on. My biggest tip is wear your bulkiest items on the plane. I find most international flights to be quite chilly, so I just use my coat as an added blanket.
- Stick to a color theme. As you can see below, most of the pieces mix and match because the colors are similar in palette.
