Koh Samui was the third stop on our honeymoon. It is a small island off the east coast of Thailand. More about our adventures and the island itself in a later post — I cannot wait to tell you more! While on the island, we stayed at two different resorts.
First stop: Le Meridien Koh Samui
Disclaimer: My husband and I are SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) groupies. If we are traveling, 99.9% chance we are checking into a SPG property.
Our suite reminded me of our own little hut. The bedroom was floor to ceiling windows on three sides and was attached to our outdoor bathroom. Although the bathroom tended to be hot and humid, when it rained, it rained in the bathroom.
Right outside our suite, we had a plunge pool attached — such an interesting idea. We found ourselves taking nightly swims (with a beer in hand).
The hotel also had an incredible lobby which turned into a reflecting pool at night. Every night, at 7:30pm, they held a ritual of lighting lanterns and setting them into the sky. Reminded me of a scene out of Tangled.
My Favorite Casual Luxury: The Pool. I think we spent half our time, laying in a chair by the pool/beach. We also may or may not have drank them out of margaritas and pina coladas.
