I love a good bridal shower. It’s the most perfect reason to get a group of your closest girl friends together and drink endless mimosas. Need I say more.
I recently have been helping a few friends throw bridal showers of their own and I am surprised what questions I get asked, and how stressed people are. C’MON LADIES. This is an excuse to dress cute and drink sip mimosas.
Invite: Who do you invite? When do I send the invites? Where do I get the invites? This the part where most brides/bridesmaids/maids of honors start to stress. Not trying to invite all guests to one bridal shower is key. Is this particular shower for close friends, sorority sisters, family members, etc?
I never think it is too early to send an invite to a bridal shower. I personally think a solid two months in advance is perfect to get the largest group of guests there. Finally, Minted or Etsy are my two favorites places to find personalized invites.
Games: What type of games should we plan? How many games should we plan? I think the number of games and type of games should be based upon the personality of the bride. Does she like the spotlight? Is she alright with other people answering questions for her? With these answers in mind, I usually recommend 2 games. One that puts in the bride in the hot seat and the other that involves guests. **I also love love this game and it is a super easy way to break the ice. **
Presents: Should I purchase something off the registry? What about lingerie? Is a kitchen gift too boring? I feel like every bridal shower I have been to does this a little differently. I personally love when parties have a themed gift. I’ve assigned attendees different “times of the day” or simply been told what part of the house to furnish. This is super helpful for the bride, so she doesn’t receive repeats or isn’t “heavy” in one particular area.
Favors: Sky’s the limit on this one. You can literally do anything your heart desires. For a recent party, we gave out succulents as party favors. I have also done personalized lip glosses, miniature bottles of champagne, macaroons, hangover kits, etc. It’s the thought that counts. Is there a favorite candy of the brides? Flower? Champagne?
Decor: Once again, let personality shine through. My sister threw me the most adorable “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” themed party, where as I threw my other sister a simplified “pink” bridal shower. You do not have to go all out here, just coordinate/personalize a few key pieces!
Here are some of my current favorite Bridal Shower themes:
What do you love about bridal showers?

Wow, Breakfast at Tiffany’s seems like it would be such a classy and high-scale party! Your sister must really care about you. Similar to yourself, my favorite aspect of bridal showers is the individuality of each one. I love a good competition in the bridal shower games, also. I cannot wait to be the guest of honor at a bridal shower in the future!!
