Hey fransss! Long time, no write. I cannot wait to share our trip to Paris with you guys over the next few days. First up, our lovely abode, Le Dokhan’s. Full Disclosure: In true Erin fashion, I managed to get the stomach flu on my flight home from Paris. Mid-flight. *shudders* But hey, I’m back, and more ready for you guys than ever.
72 hours in Paris. Wow. I think this trip totally outdid itself. I think this is truly in part to our hotel, Le Dokhan’s. When deciding on where to stay, we wanted something with a more boutique vibe (I mean, we’re in Paris) and a stellar location. In walks, Le Dokhan’s.
Le Dokhan’s was recently acquired by the SPG brand, Tribute Portfolio Collection. The location and design of the hotel snagged our attention at first, but it was the history of the hotel that really had me. It houses the OLDEST champagne bar in Paris (hello, this place was made for me) and was previously Louis Vuitton’s residence.
The elevator was a Louis Vuitton trunk!!
Let me be clear: The hotel is tiny. Like 45 rooms tiny. We were graciously upgraded to the Ming Suite, which had incredible views of the Eiffel Tower from our room. The decor was incredible; total old-school chateau-esque (I’m jut making up words at this point). There were no amenities (i.e. pool, gym, business center), but that’s not needed in Paris.
Like I mentioned, location was key. The hotel was a 10 minute walk to the base of the Eiffel Tower, and a mere 3-5 minute walk to get an incredible view. The train was a five minute walk, and let me tell you, that’s huge in Paris.
Finally, I really cannot rave enough about the concierge and hotel staff. We walked into our hotel Friday morning with almost zero plans and absolutely zero reservations. The restaurants they recommended/made reservations for where exactly what we were looking for. In fact, we made sure to visit our favorite concierge every night, and he already had reservations and recommendations WAITING FOR US. Incredible service.
Who would I recommend Le Dokhan’s for? Great question. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. If you are looking for a boutique experience, this is for you. If you need a bigger hotel, amenities, and more direction, probably not the best place for your ideal trip to Paris. But let’s be real, you’re in Paris.
Where is your favorite place to stay in Paris?
