Our recent trip to New York City was focused around one main activity: Dinner reservations at Le Bernardin. A true fine dining experience, Le Bernardin, Eric Ripert’s restaurant, has been a three star Michelin since 2005, and receives numerous awards each year. Recently, it was named the 24th Best Restaurant IN THE WORLD, as well as the best French restaurant in New York City.
Dreaming about the Seafood Truffle Pasta while writing this, I can only hope that I will experience more fine dining moments.
Acquiring a table is where the journey begins. Their phone line for reserving tables opens the month prior, and reservations are usually full within a few hours. Enter the concierge at the Ritz Carlton. They took care of the entire process, and that day, we received a text confirming our reservations. We were all set for our adventure!
The entire experience is the epitome of hospitality. As soon as you step foot in the door, you’ve become their favorite customer. Your only concern should be “What am I going to eat?” They even take care of the wine pairings for you. We decided on the Le Bernardin tasting with full wine pairing: seven courses ranging from Kampachi to a Banana S’more.
Worried about making a fool of yourself? Do not be. All questions were answered, all dishes were explained, and nothing was left for you “to figure out.” It was a well-guided tour of Eric Ripert’s best.
Three hours later, our bellies were full, and they surprised my husband with a desert cake for his birthday. Never in a million years did I think I would enjoy a dining experience like this. I am not a self-proclaimed foodie, nor do I follow the journey of chefs. However, they managed to create an experience that can be enjoyed by all. Unless, I guess, you simply don’t like food.
Would I do it again? Absolutely.
