BEST. PART. OF. THE. TRIP. Hands Down.
I posted a few weeks back about why I love cooking classes while traveling, and I have to say, this was my favorite one by far. Daniella, the instructor, was your ideal Italian mother. She was warm, caring, and didn’t let a single stomach go hungry (thank goodness I wore a loose dress).
We started the day by meeting Daniella (and her assistant, Ariana) at one of Rome’s oldest outdoor markets. From the first moment, it was like we were one big family. They were so great about showing us their favorite booths and telling us how they prepared their favorite dishes. If you know my husband, he was in full twenty questions mode. I have a feeling we are going to be trying a lot of new Italian dishes soon. Prepare for picture overload.
After the market (and picking up all the fresh ingredients), we made our way to Daniella’s house. And let’s talk about perfect. This one one of the most beautiful houses I’ve ever seen in Europe. We set up shop in the kitchen and went to work.
These are the dishes we prepared:
After preparing all the food, we popped a bottle of Prosecco (naturally) and enjoyed the feast. Once the meal was eaten (and our pants were bursting), Daniella offered us some of her homemade Limoncello. Don’t worry, I’ll be posting the recipe on a later date.
Overall, the experience was five stars. It was like having all my family back in one place again and hanging out in the kitchen before a holiday meal. Thank you Daniella for hosting us!
