It’s now HOLIDAY season. Yes, I was one of those people blasting Christmas music today, November 1st.
Ever since I moved to Chicago, over two years ago, I have made a bucket list almost every season. It helps me get out of my groove. I find myself going to the same places over and over (which isn’t always a bad thing), but it encourages me to travel outside my neighbor and explore exhibits in the city.
Take a ride on the new Navy Pier Ferris Wheel.
We were able to check this off the list this weekend. We waited to purchase tickets until we were at Navy Pier, and were able to get right one. Definitely worth the $15!
Try four new restaurants.
My husband and I split this down the middle and we each pick two restaurants we would like to visit. This is also a great way to snag reservations for those “hard to get” places. We usually plan these date nights out about a month/or two in advance. On a list, Nosh & Booze (holy sh*t, so good), Duck Duck Goat, GT Prime and Imperial La Mian.
Spend an evening seeing a Broadway show.
Looking forward to seeing Hamilton a second time in January, but check out Chicago Broadway for all the great shows coming this winter.
Visit Zoolights at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
This is completely FREE! A great family or date night. Bring some hot cocoa (maybe add some Baileys) and walk around to see all the exhibits. They also have a BrewNight (Adults Only), and tickets can be purchased here.
Cheer on the Bulls at a game.
We were able to snag tickets for the opening night — it was actually my first Bulls game this season and I would definitely do it again.
Take a ride on the Chicago Architectural Tour.
I always recommend this activity to family and friends visiting Chicago. I really want to check it out during the winter!
Make a trip to the Indoor Farmers’ Market
My favorite farmer’s market, Green City Market, moves indoors starting November 5th. I really want to make it a priority to check out the produce during the colder months! Rumor has it, they are offering Apple Cider donuts.
Drink mulled wine at Christkindlmarket.
This is hands down one of my favorite things to do in Chicago. It’s a large, German Christmas festival that sets up in the Loop area of Chicago. There is endless mulled wine, authentic German food, ornament stores, and hundreds of vendor booths. A great place to snag unique presents!
Take a spin at the Ice Skating at Maggie Daley.
Maggie Daley opened last year and I wasn’t able to check out the new rink. I brought my niece to the playground this summer, looking forward to trying it out.
