Where has the summer gone?! Two weekends ago was my birthday, and as always, my husband hit it out of the park. He surprised me with a weekend full activities, one of my favorite being: a night at the Chicago Athletic Association. (Close second: dinner at Maple & Ash. If you are in Chicago, YOU NEED TO GO.)
My husband and I have been to the rooftop bar, Cindy’s, multiple times. In fact, it is one of my favorite rooftop views in the city (that list will be coming soon). After falling in love with the architecture and decor at the CAA, I have dreamed about being a guest.
Chicago Athletic Association embodies the “men’s club” of the past. Upon checking in, I knew we were in for a treat. The front desk attendant made sure to point all the perks of being a hotel guest, including front of the line access to Cindy’s. Scoorreee.
The Pommel Horse bench was one of my favorite touches!
Once arriving to the room (to my surprise, was much larger than I expected), we found a bottle of champagne and sweet note from the concierge wishing me a “Happy Birthday.” It’s the small touches make the difference.
The Chicago Athletic Association stands out against all other hotels we have stayed at this year. It has character and history unmatched in Chicago.
Cherry Circle Room
The Game Room
I had my husband’s surprise birthday party here in March. The hall is filled will indoor bocce ball, shuffleboards and pool, making it the ultimate hang out spot. They also serve a drink out of a slushie machine. Try it. You will probably expect a fruity drink, but you’re in for a treat!
Every inch of the hotel is thought out. The Cherry Circle Room, Cindy’s, the Game Room, it’s like you’ve stepped into another era. Dark woods, leathers, and old school touches, it was my interior dream. After a quick stay, I can say, that I look forward to recommending the CAA to all friends and family coming to town. And as always, look forward to spending more evenings there in the future with a martini in hand.
Have you been to Cindy’s? What is your favorite hotel?
